How it started.

In February 2021, Omar Al Kababji, Andrea Quagliotti, and Antonio Venere met on a Friday evening at an Autogrill along the A1 highway near Parma, Italy. They were returning home after a week of post-live support for a client, traveling from different plants, in the middle of a nationwide COVID-19 lockdown where movement was permitted only for work, health, or emergency reasons.

Over sandwiches eaten in the car (dining inside was not an option at the time), the three talked and an idea took shape: what if they started their own company? It seemed crazy; they were already doing work they loved at Rockwell Automation, a great company. But large enterprises come with their own pace, their own rules, and layers of justification for every change. They started imagining a different way of working: where they could make decisions quickly, invest energy in what they truly believed would benefit both customer and company, and move at the speed a small, focused team can move.

It was late, they were tired, and they figured they might just be talking nonsense, so they called it a day and drove home. But the idea kept growing. By July 2021, they took the leap and founded PragmaTech.
